Description

Dated 1885. 2-storey, 5-bay house. Bull-faced sandstone to front, squared and snecked to sides and rear. Base course, band course above ground floor, chamfered margins.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: entrance to centre, pointed-arch doorway, Y-astragalled fanlight, panelled door with glazed upper panels. Carved crest centred above at 1st floor dated 1885? (weathered). Pointed-arch slit window above in wallhead gable with stack. Windows at ground and 1st floors in bays flanking, windows in outer bays larger.

E ELEVATION: blank gable end.

W ELEVATION: blank gable end.

N ELEVATION: 4 bays, tall stair window inner bay to right at 1st floor.

4-pane cross-pattern casement windows at 1st floor, modern timber framed replacements at ground. Grey slate roof, cream terracotta ridge tiles, stone skews, skewputts. Red and white brick gablehead stack to E and wallhead stack to S, red brick stack to W. Cast-iron cornice guttering.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low, coped stone wall to front (S) with later steel railings. Rubble stone wall to rear (N).
