Description
Middle Cottage, part of the Kirktown Cottages in Inverkeithny, dates from the earlier to mid 19th century. This row consists of two and single-storey terraced cottages, which are currently derelict and overgrown. The buildings are constructed of random rubble, likely once harled, with Turriff sandstone dressings.
To the east, there is a two-storey, two-bay cottage featuring a two-leaf boarded door at ground level, flanked by windows. The first floor has two windows that break the eaves within gabled dormerheads. Adjoining to the east are three single-storey, three-bay cottages, with the middle cottage having a bow projection at the center that includes a door and windows.
The cottages have sash and case windows, some of which retain their original glazing. The roofs are covered with grey graduated slates, and there are ashlar coped skews and stacks.
