Description

This is an early 19th-century bridge spanning a burn, likely constructed later to accommodate a metalled road. The bridge has a tall, segmental arch made of heavily pointed, random whinstone rubble. The underside of the arch (soffit) and the cornerstones (quoins) are of stugged granite, and there is a keystone to the north side with weep holes. The bridge was probably built by Haddo Estate, which was located in the Forgue Parish, Gordon District. The statutory address is Inverkeithny, Bridge over Keithny Burn.
