Old Schoolhouse, Inverkeithny

The Old Schoolhouse in Inverkeithny is a late 18th-century building, possibly dating from 1787. It is a two-storey structure with an attic and features three bays, with a classroom block from the 1920s attached to the south. The exterior is harled, with Turriff sandstone margins.

On the west elevation, which faces a grassed playground, there is a central panelled door with a strip fanlight above it, flanked by windows at the ground level. The first floor has three windows positioned close under the eaves.

The east elevation has three windows at the ground floor and a stair window in the center at the first floor. Each gable has a small attic window. The windows are sash and case style with a 12-pane glazing pattern, although some on the west side have been replaced with 4-pane glazing.

The roof is covered with original graduated grey slates, featuring coped skews with bracket skewputts and sandstone stacks that have a simple cornice. There is a single-storey addition to the south that connects the schoolhouse to the later classroom wing.

To the north, there are rubble outbuildings, and a coped retaining boundary wall runs along the road.
