Victoria Cottage, Cornhill

Victoria Cottage is a late 19th-century single-storey and attic cottage with three bays and a rear wing. The main elevation features squared and snecked whinstone with painted pointing and contrasting stugged ashlar dressings, along with an eaves course.

On the west elevation, there is a tripartite doorway at the center, which includes a pilastered door with sidelights and a letterbox fanlight. To the left, there is a corniced bipartite window with a stone mullion, and to the right, a canted window topped with a crenellated blocking course. The attic features a small, round-arched leaded dormer at the center, with two canted, piend-roofed dormers on the outer bays. The windows are sash and case, with small panes in the upper section and larger panes in the lower section.

The roof is covered with grey slates and has ashlar coped skews with bracketed skewputts. Decorative cast-iron gutter brackets and corniced ashlar stacks are present, along with decorative terracotta ridge tiles.

The boundary walls and railings consist of an ashlar coped retaining wall, which is detailed similarly to the principal elevation, with end piers, fleur-de-lys cast-iron railings, and a gate.
