Manse, 8 Mid Street, Cornhill

This early 19th century house, possibly remodeled in 1844 and later altered in the late 19th century, may have been worked on by Duncan MacMillan. It served as a former Free Church Manse and is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a later wing extending at right angles to the east. The exterior is harled with some painted margins.

On the south elevation, there is a door in a modern glazed porch located in the re-entrant angle, with a former doorway in the center that has been altered to a window. There are three windows on both the ground and first floors, along with a window on both floors of the later piend-roofed wing, which features a cast-iron finial. A small window is present in the attic of the west gable. The windows are sash and case style with a four-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are ashlar coped skews and stacks with decorative cans.

The interior was altered in the late 19th century, which included a repositioned door and stair. At the rear, there are outbuildings forming a courtyard, including a piend-roofed range that contains a stable and carriage house.
