Description
This building at 3 Main Street in Portsoy dates from around 1870 and is a single-storey house with an attic, featuring two bays. There is a later extension at the south gable that is built against a slope. The exterior is finished in red harl, which includes Portsoy 'marble' aggregate, and has tooled rubble dressings. The main doorway is obscured by a later lean-to glazed porch.
At the top of the building, a single gabled dormer projects from the wallhead, which contains four-pane glazing in a timber sash and case style. The brick extension at the south gable is likely a former store or baiting house.
