Description
4 and 5 Back Path in Banff is a house dating from around 1840. It is two stories with an attic over a basement and features three bays, situated on a steeply sloping site. There is a wide single-storey gabled addition on the west side. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar margins. The central doorway is supported by consoles, and there are tripartite windows on the ground and first floors in the outer west bay. The house has two late 19th-century canted dormers, and the windows are timber sash and case with multi-pane glazing, while the dormers have plate glass and 4-pane glazing. The west wing includes a side entrance and a central window with an apron and painted margins, along with a bandcourse. The house has end stacks and slate roofs, and there is a high rubble garden wall surrounding the property.
