Description
Balmedie House was built in 1878 for Wm. Harry Lumsden and incorporates the walls of a single-storey Regency house. This Jacobean baronial style building is two storeys high with a basement and features an asymmetrical four-storey tower and a porch with pulvinated rustication. It is constructed from local rubble with sandstone dressings and crowstepped gables. While the exterior may appear undistinguished, the interior includes some interesting features, particularly in the dining room.
