Description
Belhelvie Lodge is a building dating from around 1783, originally constructed for Harry Lumsden, an advocate from Aberdeen. The main section is two stories tall with a basement and features a three-window layout made of squared granite with margins on the south front. It has an early Victorian porch with arched and keyblocked detailing, a square stair projection at the back, a piend roof, and coped chimneys.
The east wing, built around 1800, is also two stories and has a three-window arrangement made of squared granite with margins on the east side, while the south gable is harled and features a large chimney. This wing has irregular window placements, including arched and elliptical windows, as well as a conservatory. The west wing was constructed in 1969 on the site of an older low wing.
