Description
Peathill burial ground is a high-walled burial site that has a roughly triangular shape. The main entrance, built in 1890, features cast-iron carriage gates. There is also a pedestrian entrance that leads to the old church, which is noted in a separate designation, and this entrance is flanked by piers made from re-used materials. Within the burial ground, there are churches from 1632 and 1890, also referenced in separate designations, along with tombstones dating from the 17th century and later. Please note that scheduled monument SM89 is excluded from this listing, as stated in the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Act 1997.
