Description
The burial ground at Cecilmount features a gate dating from around 1740. It has chamfered segmental arches and straight skewed gables, topped with a slated roof. There are internal recesses on each side of the gate, one of which includes a seat. The surrounding wall is built from rubble and includes wall-steps. Within the burial ground, there are several notable gravestones from the 17th and 18th centuries, with the majority being Victorian. A prominent feature is the Maclaren monument, which is flanked by disengaged Roman Doric columns and has a triglyph frieze.
