Description

Circa 1518/25. Small low crowstepped rectangle, 25' x

18' 2 chamfered square-headed windows S. wall, 1 door 1

window N. wall, all original; segment-headed W. door

with simple chamfer, perhaps slightly later; 2-light

E. window inserted at restoration of 1925-6 Reginald

Fairlie. Base of cross on E. gable 14th cent., relic

of previous chapel. Low walled fore court with big

richly detailed gatepiers of 1749 fluted Ionic

pilasters, urn finials and supporting scrolls brought

hither from old approach to house; Simple interior with

original roof partly repaired, similar to that of

Tullibardine Chapel, with slab to Malcolm Fleming +

1657, memorials otherwise modern. Graveyard contains

rusticated obelisk of wife of George Haldane + 1770,

slabs of 1686/1697 and 1701, and modern memorial to

Viscount Haldane of Cloan.
