Description
The Roman Catholic Presbytery on Sandyhill Road in Banff was designed by architect Alexander Ellis and completed in 1870. This two-storey, asymmetrical, three-bay house is connected to the neighbouring church, forming an L-plan. It is constructed from dark whinstone with grey ashlar dressings and margins, similar to the church. The central entrance is flanked on the right by a bay window and on the left by a canted bay window that rises to full height, culminating in a facetted spire. The windows feature plate glass and four-pane timber sash and case glazing. The building has corniced end stacks and a slate roof.
