74 Rubislaw Den North, Aberdeen

74 Rubislaw Den North is a villa built in 1906 by Wilson and Walker. It is two stories high and has two bays. The building features finely finished, tooled coursed grey granite ashlar on the south and west elevations, while the rest is made of Aberdeen bond granite. The villa has a rough-faced base course, a first-floor cill course, an eaves course, and overhanging eaves.

The south elevation is asymmetrical, with a pedimented bay that projects to the left. It has a tripartite rectangular-plan window on the ground floor, topped with a piended slate roof, and a bipartite window on the first floor above. To the right, there is a recessed bay with a bipartite window on the ground floor and a single window on the first floor above.

The east elevation is also asymmetrical, with the ground floor obscured by trees as of 2000. The first floor features irregularly placed windows. The north elevation has a wing that advances to the left, with near-regular openings and a skylight in the attic.

The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, is asymmetrical as well. It has a blank bay that advances to the left, with a porch hood supported by decorative timber brackets at the re-entrant angle. There is a panelled timber door with a fanlight and a window above on the first floor.

The villa predominantly features 2-pane timber sash and case windows and has a piended grey slate roof with lead ridges. The wallhead stacks are coped with circular cans, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 2000. The property also includes square-plan rough-faced gatepiers to the south, with low coped walls between them, and granite and brick coped rubble walls surrounding the remainder of the property.
