11 Havelock Place, Warrenpoint, Newry, Co Down, BT34 3NE

This is one of a pair of two-storey houses, significantly altered, forming part of a longer terrace in Warrenpoint. The building is two bays wide and is dated to between 1840 and 1859, although an earlier house on the site is recorded in the 1835 Valuation, measuring 30 feet 6 inches by 17 feet by 8 feet high. By 1863, the building had become a two-storey structure; it is uncertain whether this was achieved by raising the original house or constructing a new one. The roof is pitched and covered with artificial slate, with two tall cement-rendered chimneys – one on the party wall and the other at the right end. Metal rainwater goods with a downpipe run to the right end of the building. The walls are painted with a wet-dash finish. A modern, panelled front door is located in the left bay. Windows include modern fixed lights with top-hung transoms and deep cills; there are windows on the right, and two on the first floor. A small front area is enclosed by a dwarf wall and hedge, with the left and right gables forming party walls with adjacent buildings. The rear elevation has not been inspected.
