Description
This was a farmhouse constructed between 1820 and 1839, located opposite 181 Newcastle Road, Kilkeel, Newry, County Down. The building has been entirely demolished and no remains are visible.
According to a 1972 survey, the farmhouse was originally a harled and colour-washed structure with a slated roof, parapet gables, and a central chimney. It featured a modern porch with metal windows, and 12-pane Georgian sash windows on the front. A sheeted door and two similar windows were present at the rear. Buildings extended to the west, constructed with slated and thatched roofs. A small return wing and a granite outbuilding were situated to the south. The property was also characterised by a pump, an elaborate iron field gate, and stone boundary walling.
The property was initially identified as of record interest, but was delisted on 13 March 1987.
