Mullagh Bridge, Main Rd, Ballymartin, Newry, Co Down, BT34 4NU

This is a semicircular bridge carrying the Newcastle to Kilkeel road over the Mullagh River. Constructed between 1820 and 1839, it replaced an earlier bridge located a short distance downstream, which is shown on an 1834 Ordnance Survey map. The bridge is built of squared granite blocks in regular courses, featuring finely dressed voussoirs, with the downstream banks faced in stone. It is considered to be of industrial archaeological interest and represents a feature of the local road network. The structure was first noted on an 1859 Ordnance Survey map and is presently overgrown. It is owned by central government.
