10 Great George's Street, Warrenpoint, Newry, Co Down, BT34 3NF

This is a two-and-a-half storey, two-bay house located on the north-west side of Great George’s Street in Warrenpoint, Co Down. Constructed between 1840 and 1859, it is the fifth property from the left on the terrace. The house was not present on the 1834 town map but is shown on the 1861 Ordnance Survey map and described in the 1863 Valuation Book as measuring 6.75 yards by 8.75 yards, with two-and-a-half to three storeys and a two-storey return. The building has been altered and retains no features of architectural or historical interest.

The principal, south-east facing elevation has a pitched natural slate roof with an advanced eaves course and half-round plastic gutters. There are two wall-head dormers with pitched roofs and plain timber bargeboards. The exterior walls are rendered and painted; the ground floor has a semicircular headed opening containing a modern four-panelled door with raised and fielded panels and a plain fanlight with gold lettering reading ‘Lisheen’. A top-hung uPVC casement window is situated in the right-hand bay of the ground floor, with a painted cill. All other windows are similar unless otherwise stated. The first floor has a window in each bay, with the left-hand window (above the entrance) being narrower than the one to the right. Each dormer contains a shallow segmental-headed window.

A small area in front of the house is enclosed by a rendered and painted wall. The left gable is abutted by the adjoining building, designated HB16/11/034D. Similarly, the right gable is abutted by HB16/11/034F. The rear elevation was not inspected.
