The building at 131 Head Road, Ballymartin, Kilkeel, Newry, Co Down, is a single-storey, two-bay dwelling, facing south, with a corrugated tin roofed outhouse attached. It was likely constructed between 1900 and 1919, appearing on maps from 1919 onwards, and was previously a thatched house. The walls are of roughly-coursed squared granite rubble, harled, with a cement-rendered chimney on the east gable, which has now collapsed on the west. The roof has also collapsed. No windows or doors remain. A 1972 survey described the cottage as having harled and whitened walls and a slated roof, with a chimney featuring a projecting cap and a pot with triangular-topped sides. The door was sheeted, and the double-hung windows had sashes divided equally into three panes. A small annex with a sheeted door was present to the east. The 1972 survey slide, taken from the rear, showed a roped thatched roof, with significant loss to the east end. The building is currently derelict and of vernacular character. It was delisted on 29 June 1988.
