Bridge, Lisrace / Drumady, Rosslea, Co Fermanagh

This is a small bridge, likely constructed between 1840 and 1859. It’s a typical example of its type and scale, exhibiting some industrial archaeological interest. The bridge features a single, segmental skew span that carries a two-lane road over a stream. Though the bridge is skew, the underside of the span utilizes blocks laid in a rectangular pattern. It is built from finely dressed random sandstone blocks throughout, with the abutments, spandrels, and parapets laid in courses. The parapets have pitched copings, with projecting square terminal piers topped by raised, rusticated and shouldered caps. A pipe runs across the upstream face of the bridge. The bridge first appears on the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map of 1857, confirming its mid-19th century construction date.
