Description
This is a two-storey, two-bay vernacular house situated south of the Dernaglug and Drumaa townland. The house was constructed between 1880 and 1899, as evidenced by a datestone reading '1888'. It has been significantly altered.
The house is aligned southwest–northeast and features an artificial slate roof with plastic ogee rainwater goods, set over boxed eaves. The chimney is rendered with cement and located on the party wall between the two bays. The external walls are pebble-dashed over a painted cement-rendered base course, with vertical bands on each elevation. All windows are modern, timber top-hung casements set within narrow, cement-rendered reveals, with concrete cills. The principal elevation faces southeast. The left bay has a window on each floor. The right bay has a slightly projecting gabled entrance porch with rendered walls and a modern, glazed and timber door. A stone plaque above the door reads '1888'. There is a window on each floor to the right of the porch. The left gable has a window to each floor, with the first-floor window being smaller and obscurely glazed. The rear elevation is adjoined to the right bay by a full-height return, which is of the same construction and considered of no particular interest. The left-hand bay of the rear elevation also has a window on each floor. The right gable is blank. The building is privately owned and currently in use as a house.
