Lisnamallard Fort, Lisnamallard, Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh, BT92 6BA

Lisnamallard Fort is a prehistoric site occupying a prominent position on a gently sloping hill, situated on the south side of a minor road. The fort consists of a roughly circular enclosure approximately 50 meters in diameter, defined by an earthen bank. This bank stands around 1.5 meters high and is 3 to 4 meters wide, although it has slumped inwards and is largely obscured by scrub vegetation. There is no evidence of an external ditch surrounding the enclosure. The ground within the enclosure slopes slightly toward the center and is currently used for grazing. It appears to have functioned as an enclosure rather than a traditional rath. The site is considered derelict and is designated a Scheduled Monument (Ferm 246:48).
