Description

This is a two-storey, three-bay house located close to the southern boundary of Derryard Townland, aligned southwest-northeast. The house has undergone significant alterations and retains limited original character or features of particular interest. It is likely to date from the later 19th century, probably between 1880 and 1899, although its precise date is uncertain.

The house has a hipped roof covered with artificial slate tiles and terracotta ridge tiles, along with a brick chimney featuring decorative brick coping at the party wall between each bay. It has ogee-shaped plastic rainwater goods. The exterior walls are pebble-dashed over a cement-rendered base course, with stepped cement quoins. A cement-rendered platband runs at first-floor cill level, from which a decorative lugged vertical band rises between each bay to eaves level. All windows are uPVC top-hung casements with cement cills, with the principal elevation facing southeast. A modern glazed and timber door with sidelights and a semi-elliptical fanlight is centrally positioned, flanked by windows on either side. Above the ground floor openings are three windows. All openings have cement-rendered reveals, and the ground floor windows have decorative heads. The left gable is blank. The rear elevation incorporates a uPVC door to the left and a timber door to the right, with two windows in the central bay. The first floor has three equally spaced windows, and the right gable features a large central window at ground floor level.

An earlier building is marked on the 1834 Ordnance Survey map of County Fermanagh, but it was valued at only 10 shillings and 0 pence in 1862, suggesting a smaller structure than the current two-storey house. Further information is not available from the valuation revision books.
