House, Derrygelly, Rosslea, Co Fermanagh, BT92 7JZ

This is a ruinous, single-storey, three-bay vernacular dwelling with an associated outbuilding, situated in an isolated setting and aligned east-west on the east side of the road. The building dates from approximately 1820 to 1839. Originally thatched, the roof is now gone, but its pitched form is still evident. The walls are constructed of random rubble stone with vestiges of lime render. A lime-rendered chimney stands between the first and second bays, and another is present on the east gable. The principal (south-facing) elevation originally had a door opening with a stone lintel and a window opening in the central bay and a window opening in the right bay. The west gable is blank. A window opening is visible on the rear elevation in the middle and right bays. The north gable abuts a single-storey, three-bay outbuilding with a pitched corrugated metal roof and whitewashed walls; its south-facing elevation has a door to each bay, while the remaining elevations are blank. The left bay wall is partially collapsed, with the remains of a concrete block cill. A building is depicted at this location on the 1834 Ordnance Survey 6-inch map. The dwelling retains a large traditional fireplace within the central bay.
