Description

This is a modest two-storey terrace house with a shopfront, dating to the late 19th century, likely built between 1880 and 1899. Situated in the Town Parks townland of Ballycastle, it sits within a longer terrace, being the middle property of a group of three.

The house is narrow-fronted and two bays wide. The front features a panelled and top-glazed door with a fanlight, set within a narrow brick pier. To the side is a two-pane shop window within a surrounding frame, with an aluminium frame. A long, modest name fascia, bearing painted lettering advertising a hairdressing business, extends above the door and window, framed by a thin moulding. At first floor level are two eight-pane windows with top vents that open outwards. A small projecting sign is positioned to the left. The building has a half-round metal gutter, a slated roof, and a chimney stack at each end of the ridge. A basement is present. The brickwork is unplastered and painted, providing a pleasing texture.

The property has been recently renovated and is currently in use as a shop and hairdressing business. It falls within a conservation area.
