Ashview House, 25 Lisbarnet Road, Lisbarnet, Killinchy, Co Down, BT23 6AW

Ashview House was a two-storey house of probable mid-to-late 19th century origin, located on the north side of Lisbarnet Road, approximately two miles north of the village of Killinchy. The house was demolished sometime between 1974 and around 1990, and a modern two-storey dwelling now occupies the site.

The original house, first surveyed in 1834 and 1859-60, had a slated roof and gable ends. It featured rendered brick chimneys and rendered, lined walls. The south-east front displayed three first-floor and two ground-floor double-hung windows with margin-paned glass and plain surrounds. A central doorway featured an elliptical arch with a plain surround, a plain fanlight, a panelled door, and two-pane sidelights. The house was approximately 38 feet wide and included an extension at the rear, along with adjacent outbuildings.

Historical records indicate that around 1861, the house was leased from the Londonderry estate and occupied by a John Shaw, with a rateable value of £6-10-0. While a house existed on the site in 1834, the architectural style, particularly the margin-paned windows, suggests the building dated from after 1860. The Ordnance Survey maps of 1834 and 1859-60 depict a house at this location.
