Description
St Comgall’s Primary School is a mid-20th century school building constructed between 1940 and 1959, designed by McLean and Forte of Belfast. The building is of modern style and possesses little architectural or historic interest. It comprises single and two-storey blocks with flat roofs, built using framed concrete and finished with cement render, notable for its large areas of glazing. The school sits on a corner site within its own grounds which include grassed areas and a tarmacadam playground. References include an illustration in the Belfast News-Letter dated 24 March 1955, and an Ordnance Survey map from 1962.
