7/24 Old East End Cottages 22.11.66 II

House, subsequently sub-divided into cottages, now again a single dwelling and currently under repair (August 1985). Early C17, some C19 alteration. Coursed rubble, triple-Roman tiled roof, coped verges, brick and rubble stacks. L-plan, 3 unit and cross passage. Single storey and attic and 2 storeysi frontage of 4 bays, 4 front facing gables; 3-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows with stopped labels; except two 4-light windows to left of ground floor with central king mullion; sore windows with diamond-paned leaded lights, remainder with C19 casements; 2-light late C19 casement inserted on ground floor. Principal door opening to third bay, moulded freestone surrund with a 4-centred head, enriched spandrels, foliate frieze, stopped label, plank door. Further door opening with plank door between first and second bays. C19 lean-to to right return. Rear elevations with sore stone mullioned windows and sole casements. Interior with framed ceiling; remains of panelled partition; fireplaces with broad wooden bressumers; fireplace with a 4-centred head and incised spandrels; (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, December 1977).
