Description
Priory Lodge is a lodge built in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and features a hipped roof covered with fishscale slate. The building has paired polygonal ashlar stacks at the apex and wide eaves that create a verandah on two sides supported by rustic poles. The architectural style is Gothick, and the lodge is single storey with two bays on each face. It has two-light casements set within ogee-headed freestone architraves. The central door opening is framed by a similar surround, and the door itself has ornamental studwork. There is an addition at the rear of the lodge. It is located at the entrance to the former house of the Waldegrave family, which has since been demolished.
