Description

Tudor House is a house dating from the early 17th century, with internal alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and features a triple-Roman tiled roof with coped verges. The right gable face has been rebuilt in brick, and there are two brick stacks. The house has a three-unit plan with a through-passage and a stair-turret at the rear.

It stands two storeys high and has five bays, with stone-mullioned windows that have two, three, and four lights, along with iron casements. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century windows on the right, as well as a small single-light opening. The door opening is located between the third and fourth bays and features a 17th-century two-panelled door set in a moulded stone surround with a 4-centred head. The left return of the house has a datestone reading "1752".

The rear of the house includes further stone-mullioned windows, including a small two-bay facade with a central chamfered 4-centred arch door opening and a plank door. Inside, the house has a restored queen-post roof. There are two fireplaces on the ground floor, each with moulded stone surrounds and 4-centred arch heads, and additional fireplaces of a similar style on the first floor. The through-passage features a plank and muntin partition on the north side, and the floors are laid with stone setts. Door openings on the first floor are framed with moulded wooden architraves.
