Description

The cow byre, located about 30 meters north-west of Dunpole Farmhouse, dates from the 19th century. It is constructed of ham stone rubble on three sides, with the fourth wall being timber framed and boarded. The roof is double Roman clay tiled with plain gables, and there is some surviving thatch on the west slope. Inside, there is a timber cow stall with a feeding walkway behind. This building is part of a farm complex that holds considerable interest.
