Description

Higher Sea House is a detached cottage, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, incorporating some large stones, and has a thatched roof with coped gables and brick chimney stacks. The building is in an L-shaped plan. The east-facing elevation, which is three bays wide, has a gabled end to the first bay, now rendered and featuring 20th-century small-pane casement windows and a 20th-century glazed door. The upper windows in bays 2 and 3 are two-light casements, while the lower window in bay 3 is a three-light casement, both with small panes. A plain doorway with an ashlar surround and a boarded door with a glazed panel, set within an open timber and tiled porch, is located below bay 2, with a matching window to the return. A 20th-century extension has been added to the rear.
