Description
The south entrance gateway to the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features stone ashlar piers and wrought iron gates. The square piers stand about 4 metres tall and have a chamfered plinth that is almost buried. They are topped with cornice caps that have a step and necked stands for ball finials. The pair of wrought iron gates is designed with alternating plain and barbed spikes, and they sweep up to the outer corners. To the west, there is a short length of rubble walling that is about 1.2 metres high and has simple coving.
