Description
No 18 on Fore Street is a three-storey building from the early 19th century, constructed with dark red brick. The left return wall has an exposed corner that is supported by an iron column. The building features projecting eaves and a slate roof. There are two windows with triangular heads and painted diamond keystones, along with wooden reveals and diagonal glazing bars. Narrow windows with similar detailing are found in the exposed end of the left wall. A later 19th-century shop front has been inserted on the left side, which includes original round-headed glazing divisions, fluted pilasters, Gothic caps, and foliated spandrels. The entrances are set at an angle to the left, and a second shop front extends from the right. Nos 18, 20, The Vintage Public House, and No 24 together form a group.
