Description

No 53 on Staithe Street is an early 19th-century building constructed of red brick. It stands three stories high and features two windows with floor bands. The shop front, which is slightly recessed and dates from the mid-19th century, is flanked by a pair of slender columns at the center. To the left, there is an arched passage. The ground floor is lined with stucco and painted. The roof is likely covered with slates. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 27 to 73 (odd).
