Description
The Round House Farm Shop and Newport, Butcher is a house and shops dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features asbestos cement slates between stepped coped gables, with brick end chimney stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays. It has a painted stone plinth and sash windows in plain openings, each with flat gauged brick arches. The ground floor includes a large 16-pane sash window in the first bay, 12-pane sashes on the first floor, and small 16-pane sashes on the second floor, with the top centre bay being a blind panel. The lower third bay features a 19th-century angled bay shop window with 2+6+2 pane sashes and a narrow angled fascia under a flat roof. A central six-panel door serves both shops, set in a plain semi-circular arched opening, with a blank panel replacing the fanlight. The interiors have not been seen.
