House, now Post Office. Dated 1767 in gable. Cary stone ashlar with Doulting dressings; Welsh slate roof between stepped coped gables; brick end chimney stacks. Two storeys with attic; 5 bays, of which the centre bay projects slightly and has a pediment. Plinth, ashlar quoins, cornice, plain parapet with moulded coping; 12-pane sash windows in architraves; centre bay has a Venetian window to first floor, and below a 6 fielded panel door in shouldered architrave with pediment on console brackets. Interior adapted as post office and shop on ground floor, first floor not seen. Three metres south of building, with opening opposite door with steps up, and with returns to each end of building, a Cary stone wall on lias base, coursed rubble with plain coping, between one and 2 metres high enclosing paved forecourt: important in the setting of the house and in the streetscape of Bailey Hill.
