Description
Redlynch Home Farm House, also known as Redlynch Park Farm House, is a farmhouse that dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed of local stone rubble with Doulting stone dressings and features a Welsh slate roof with plain gables and stone end chimney stacks. The building has an 'L' plan and stands two storeys high with five bays. It has 2-light plain chamfered mullioned windows with leaded lights. The central window on the first floor has an architrave with a shouldered segmental top, while the ground floor features a continuous string course over all windows, which steps up to a segmental curve above the central doorway. This doorway is now obscured by a 20th-century flat-roofed stone porch. There is a substantial 19th-century north wing that is not of particular interest. The interior has not been seen. It is believed that the house may have been built or altered by Nathaniel Ireson, who was the Master-Builder for Lord Ilchester's Redlynch Estate, of which this property is a part.
