Description
Three houses, located at 37, 39, and 41 Quay Street, Minehead, date from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed with painted render over rubble stone, and have continuous slate roofs with brick ridge stacks at the left gable end, with party walls and a rear wing belonging to number 39. The houses have double-depth plans, with rooms arranged around a central entrance. Each house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window facade.
Number 37, the leftmost house, has a 19th-century lean-to extension to the side with a door and a two-light casement window. The blocked central entrance is flanked by 20th-century two- and three-light casement windows. Number 39, in the centre, features an early 19th-century six-panel door flanked by tall 19th-century three-light casement windows with 20th-century leaded glazing; the ground-floor window on the left is blocked. Number 41, on the right, has a similar early 19th-century six-panel door, flanked by tall three-light casement windows with small panes. The first-floor windows of numbers 39 and 41 are set at eaves level. The interiors have not been inspected.
