Description
45 and 47 Quay Street is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, positioned at a right angle to the road. It dates from the early 18th century and features painted render over rubblestone with a plain tile roof that has exposed rafter ends. The front slope has two 20th-century dormers, and there is an internal lateral stack on the front right with a brick stack above the eaves. The building has a 2-unit plan, with a rear outshut, a lower set-back wing to the left, and a 2-storey wall to the rear right that includes a door connecting to No. 49. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a three-window range on the south front (No. 45). The east street front (No. 47) has a two-window range and is three storeys high. The south front features a 20th-century door, porch, and mostly three-light casement windows. The east gable end has a 19th-century two-light casement window on each floor, while the outshut to the right includes a 20th-century door and hood with a small two-light casement window above and to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
