Description
33 High Street is a shop dating from around 1800. It is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings, and the roof is not visible behind a parapet, featuring brick chimney stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with three bays.
The exterior includes a moulded cornice and a plain parapet. The ground floor has a late 20th-century shop front with brick side piers, a recessed area to the left, and a four-unit display window beneath a deep fascia. The upper floors feature 16-pane sash windows in plain openings, each topped with quintuple keystoned flat arched heads. There is a lead stackhead and downpipe located to the left.
Inside, the ground floor has been completely reformed, while the first and second floors retain an early 19th-century linking staircase, which is the only remaining feature from that period.
