Description
29 High Street is a house with a shop, now functioning as a shop with an office above. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and is built of brick with stone dressings, finished with a colourwashed surface and a hipped Welsh slate roof, along with brick chimney stacks.
The building has three storeys and a single bay. There is a band course between the first and second floors, a moulded cornice, and a plain parapet. The ground floor features a later 20th-century shop front with mosaic surrounds, a simple window, and a door set in an angled recess to the left, topped by a deep plain fascia. On the first floor, there is a canted bay window with a reeded ornament frieze beneath a flat roof, and the plain sashes have a vertical dividing bar in the centre unit. The second floor contains one 16-pane sash window in a plain surround.
Inside, there are no features of historic interest remaining, although the window on the second floor retains some early glass. The roof is not accessible.
