Description

ST4717 STOKE SUB HAMDON CP NORTH STREET (West side) 6/330 Schoolroom about 10 metres west of Stoke sub Hamdon United Reformed Church - GV II Schoolroom. Dated 1875. Ham stone coursed rubble, ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof between coped gables with finials. Single-storey, 5 bays. Cusped lancet windows without labels, but with soldier arches of alternate ashlars and boasted stones: doorway to central bay, plain chamfered-pointed arched with boarded door having Gothic style hinges. Foundation stone laid by Richard Southconbe 9th September 1875. Interior not seen. Has group value with the United Reform Church (q.v) and Manse (q.v) and completes the complex,
