Description
The former entrance to Comeytrowe Manor, located approximately 40 metres south of the junction with Comeytrowe Road, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond, featuring stone dressings. The entranceway includes square-sectioned gate piers with plinths, cornices, moulded-edged flat capstones, and scrolled tops on the hanging stiles. The flanking walls are about 1.5 metres high and 13 metres long, topped with flat stone coping. The left (southern) wall curves in a reverse quadrant, while the right wall is straight and ends in another pier. This structure is included for its group value only.
