Description
This is a detached cottage with origins in the 17th century, though it has been modified since. It is constructed of roughly cut and squared local lias stone, with an asbestos-cement slate roof that replaced the original thatch. The roof has coped gables, and the chimney stacks are brick, with one set on a stone base. The cottage is two storeys high and has an irregular 4-bay fenestration. The windows are horizontal bar casements; the upper windows in bays 2 and 3 have chamfer mullioned timber frames, while the lower windows have exposed timber lintols. A 19th-century part-glazed door is situated between bays 2 and 3, also under a timber lintol. A single-storey lean-to extension is attached to the north gable. The interior was not inspected.
