Description
Nos. 15 and 15A are two cottages located on Quay Street in Minehead, dating from the late 18th century, although they incorporate earlier fabric. The cottages are lower than the road and feature painted render over rubblestone, topped by a continuous thatched roof with external stacks at the gable ends and rear. They have a central-entry layout with two units and outshuts, standing two storeys tall, with each cottage having a two-window range. The windows are primarily 19th and 20th century two-light casements with small panes, except for No. 15 on the left, which has a 19th-century oriel window with three lights on the first floor. The central doors are from the 20th century; the door to No. 15 is sheltered by a slated lean-to porch, while No. 15A is said to be built into the rock behind it. The interiors have not been inspected. A high rendered rubblestone wall connects the front right corner of No. 15A with the rear left corner of No. 17, which is set forward.
