Description
Belle Vue, also known as The Old Harbour House, is a house located on Quay Street in Minehead, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. The building has been much altered over time and features painted render over rubblestone, with a steeply-pitched concrete tile roof and a rendered external stack positioned off-set to the west side at the rear gable end. It has a two-unit plan that is oriented at a right angle to the street and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a two-window range. The front has a 20th-century door and windows, while an original cyma-moulded painted stone cornice can be seen on the east front, along with painted stone chamfered quoins.
A low thick wall attached to the north-east corner encloses a garden and courtyard. Approximately 2 meters from the house, there are substantial gatepiers with moulded cornices and ball finials. The wall gracefully sweeps up as it connects the house to the gatepiers and the outhouse of No. 11A to the east. The interior has not been inspected.
