Description

Huntstile Farmhouse is a manor house that has been converted into a farmhouse, with origins dating back to the 16th century and alterations from the 18th and 19th centuries. The exterior features roughcast on rubble, with roofs made predominantly of stone slate, slate, and tile, some having coped verges with bases for finials and brick stacks, one of which is on a rubble base.

The building has an L-shaped entrance frontage, consisting of two storeys and an attic, with wings that have two and three bays. On the right side, there are casement windows, some featuring leaded lights. The left side has two three-light casements on the first floor, also with leaded lights, and a three-light and a four-light hollow-moulded stone-mullioned window on the ground floor, both with stopped labels. The door opening is located in the angle between the wings, framed by a moulded surround with a four-centred head, and features a studded plank door with strap hinges.

The right return of the building includes additional stone-mullioned windows with leaded lights, a porch with a moulded four-centred arch door opening, and a carved wooden cornice, as well as a cellar doorway. Inside, there is a fireplace with a moulded four-centred head stone surround, a spiral staircase, and panelling that includes a carved frieze.
