Description
Great House Farmhouse is a manor house that has been converted into a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century. The building is roughcast with a triple Roman and pantile roof, featuring coped verges and a combination of brick and roughcast stacks. It stands two storeys tall and has three bays, with predominantly 19th-century two and three-light casement windows, although the first-floor windows are 17th-century and transomed. To the left of the ground floor, there is a pair of French windows with glazing bars, and the principal entrance features a six-panelled door.
An attached outbuilding, which is lower in height, is positioned at right angles to the left of the main facade; it is also roughcast and has a double-Roman tile roof with two casements. Inside, a notable feature is the dog-leg staircase located in a turret at the rear, which includes a newel post with a finial, pendant, and splat balusters. Additionally, two rooms within the house have ornamental plaster cornices.
